CCSO 2019 Conference Recap
by CCC Chapter President Jason Bernard:
CCSO Chapter 41 had the opportunity to attend the 27th annual conference in Palm Desert this weekend. We had a great bunch of speakers and introductions to some new great benefits for CCSO members. We also had an opportunity to sit and have a personal visit with CDCR Secretary Ralph Diaz. Mr. Diaz’s vision for the sometimes-complicated future of Corrections in California is solid. We also were able to visit with him regarding many issues and he was welcoming and very receptive to our discussion. We had many speakers that were in attendance to explain the many new benefits available to CCSO members. CCSO launched our new website produced by 911 media this weekend and we got a behind the scenes look at the web site and its great capabilities. You need to log in to www.ccsonet.org and register on the website. Soon after you register, you will receive a confirmation email from CCSO that your access has been granted and you can now access this great (members only) site.
Correctional Legal Services is now available to non-supervisors (C/O’s/ OT/OA/MSSI, etc) and provides CCSO’s outstanding legal representation to all that sign up. With a membership in CLS, those members also have access to all of these great new benefits. (attached) Why worry about your job when it comes to Skelley Hearings, OIA, Adverse action proceedings? Do you want a peer job steward sitting at your side or one of our experienced labor attorneys? With membership in CLS through CCSO, now ALL STAFF can be covered by this legal umbrella. I have also attached the CLS Membership application for you to share with your staff.
Below is the information on the new CCSO benefits. Click on any link below to get additional information. Further details can be found on the new CCSO website (www.ccsonet.org) and you can also sign up for these benefits through the website.
