Protective Masks:
CCSO has worked very hard over the past month to secure protective masks for our members. We contacted numerous vendors to ensure we ordered the best quality masks with the earliest possible delivery time frame. We finally confirmed and purchased roughly 8,000 masks.
The first order placed was for 5,000 KN95 masks. They should arrive within a few weeks and once we receive them, deliveries will be scheduled with all chapter presidents. Each chapter president will be responsible for distributing the masks to their members. These KN95 masks should hold you over until our second shipment arrives.
Our second order is for 3,000 sport masks. These are more durable and are reusable so that you may wear them multiple times. We know that our members are in desperate need of these masks and we will distribute them as soon as possible. Please see photos below of each mask.

Importance of Wearing a Mask:
CCSO supports the wearing of masks. Many counties have mandated orders to wear a mask when in public and the workplace is just as important. With so many staff and inmates in close proximity to one another, it is essential to protect yourself. You also risk bringing home germs to your family, so please protect not only yourself but your loved ones as well. As supervisors and managers we must exhibit strong leadership traits and do our part to support this directive. Please work with your local administration to obtain approval on makeshift masks to use for now before you receive masks from CCSO or the Department. Let’s do our best to make this comfortable and accommodate everyone.
Senior Class of 2020:
Many of you have children graduating from high school this year and they will miss out on having a typical graduation ceremony. CCSO would like to recognize them in our next Keynotes edition. Please send in your high school senior’s picture with their name, high school, name of parent(s), and your institution so that we may publish their pictures. We are very proud of their accomplishment and we want to commend their hard work, especially in these current times.
Graduation/Promotion Pictures:
In addition to high school seniors, we would also like to recognize other important graduations. If your child(ren) had a graduation or promotion from pre-school, kindergarten, junior high, or any other similar achievement, please send us their photo with the same information as listed above.
CCSO Stronger Together:
During these very strenuous times, CCSO wants to do our part to help. We are fundraising by selling our “CCSO Stronger Together” tees for $19.95. Half of all the proceeds will go towards supporting health care workers and food banks. Call into the office to puchase a shirt and in turn support this great cause. “Stronger Together”
Chapter Elections:
Chapter election ballots are starting to be mailed to all even numbered chapters having an election. In the coming weeks if you have not received an election ballot your chapter may have appointments in lieu of an election. Article IV Section 6; APPOINTMENT VERSUS A CHAPTER ELECTION a) If after having mailed out the nomination ballots, as cited in Section 6, there are NO MEMBERS interested in running for a Chapter position, the CCSO Main Office will contact the former Chapter President to ascertain if he/she will accept an appointment by the State President to run as Chapter President for the new term. If the Chapter President declines, the State President may appoint a Chapter President. b) If after having mailed out the nomination ballots, as cited in Section 6, there is only one person nominated for each position on the Chapter Board, those nominees will be appointed by the State President in lieu of having an election.
Please contact the CCSO office at 209.838.2940 for further details. CCSO will accept returned chapter election ballots until June 1, 2020.
