CCSO Annual Conference:
The 2023 annual conference registration is now open. The event is scheduled for October 19-21 in Monterey, CA. Space is limited, and priority will be given to Chapter Presidents. If you are not a Chapter President but are interested in attending, email us at ccso@ccsonet.org. Our expense reimbursement policy has changed; CCSO will no longer pay per diem, airfare, mileage, or rental car expenses. However, some recipients will receive a stipend of $350, provided upon your attendance and completion of both the General Meeting and Conference. Lodging and STB, if needed, will be provided.
Annual Conference Itinerary:
Thursday 10/19: Welcome Reception 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Friday 10/20: General Meeting 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. This will be a closed-door meeting, with only the State Board of Directors, Chapter Presidents, and CCSO staff.
Saturday 10/21: Annual Conference 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Saturday 10/21: Conference Awards Luncheon Noon – 1:00 p.m.
Medal of Valor Ceremony:
CCSO is once again honored to host the 2023 Medal of Valor Ceremony. Each year, CDCR holds the Medal of Valor (MOV) award ceremony to honor employees and community members who distinguished themselves by acts of heroism, bravery, or service beyond the ordinary demands of correctional/community service. The MOV service is scheduled for September 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Creekside Christian Church located in Elk Grove.

Upcoming State Board Election:
It’s time to vote! CCSO is soliciting interested members who want to be part of the decision-making for our great organization. The State Board of Directors meets quarterly and utilizes the CCSO release time bank for your attendance. Board members also attend various CDCR, CalHR, and DSH meetings, as well as conferences, workshops, and other events.
The term of office is four years: January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2027. Nomination forms will be sent on September 5. We encourage you to nominate your fellow members for this exciting and rewarding opportunity.
The current State Board seats and incumbents up for election are as follows:

Retiring Soon:
CCSO still wants your membership. If you are retiring soon, consider extending your affiliation with us as a retired member. The CCSO Retired membership dues are $60.00 per year, payable in monthly installments on the first day of each month for $5.00. The dues will be deducted directly from your PERS retirement account.
