Message from State President Art Gonzales:
The legislative year is concluding, and our lobbyists have been able to advance SB 716, our binding arbitration bill, through both houses of the legislature with no “NO” votes. We have been here before only to have the Governor veto the bill. His veto messages are always the same and never grounded in fact.
Our lobbyists have done what they can do, and it is now time for all of us to step to the plate and show the Governor that we support SB 716.
This year, our lobbyists have deployed a method allowing our members, family, and friends to send a message directly to the Governor. We need as much support as possible from our members and friends for Senate Bill 716 by Alverado-Gill.
Our advocates have made the process very easy. You can send a prewritten message or write a personal letter to support the bill. There is a description of SB 716 alongside a prewritten email to the Governor. Time is of the essence, and we need to flood the Governor’s office with emails supporting this legislation. The legislature goes into recess on September 15th, and the Governor has 30 days to sign or veto any measures on his desk. For your letters to be effective, they must be sent as soon as possible.
Act now! Go to the website https://actnow.io/3hF5dnN and let the Governor know you support SB716. Let’s show the legislature and the Governor that “CCSO STRONG” is not a hollow statement.
