Update: Bylaw Change Tabled Pending Chapter Presidents’ Feedback
State President Gonzales understands the concerns our members have shared regarding the recent
bylaw change to Article IV, Section 2, which added new eligibility requirements for the State
President and State Vice President elections. The California Correctional Supervisors Organization
(CCSO) values and respects the voices of our membership, and it is clear that this change has
created questions and unease about the election process.
With that in mind, CCSO leadership has decided to table the motion approved on July 25, 2025, that
added eligibility requirements for the State President and State Vice President board positions. At
this time, we will return to the previous process that was in place before this change.
We thank our members for their patience and understanding as we work to ensure fairness and
transparency in our State election procedures. This bylaw change will be revisited at a later date,
when we are able to gather input and feedback directly from our Chapter Presidents to better
reflect the collective will of our membership.
Your voices matter, and CCSO remains committed to representing and protecting the best interests of
all members.
Respectfully, Art Gonzales
CCSO State President
