CCSO once again hosted the CDCR Medal of Valor Ceremony for 2014 which was held this year at the First Baptist Church , Community Center of Elk Grove because the Training Center in Galt is buzzing with new recruits and was too unavailable this year.
CDCR Secretary Jeff Beard opened the ceremony by saying this year, there were 108 employees being honored which is one of the largest numbers of honorees in the 30-year history of the Medal of Valor Ceremony. Secretary Beard said, “The number is an indication of the strong character and ability of CDCR’s work force.”
This ceremony is certainly a tribute to the men and women who have shown courage in the face of immediate peril.
