May is National Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor the contributions, service and sacrifice of U.S. servicemembers past and present, as well as their families. This month includes a number of military holidays and observances, such as Loyalty Day, VE Day, Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day. CCSO salutes all those who have served or are currently serving in our nation's military for their dedication, patriotism and bravery. Thank you for keeping us safe!

During National Correctional Officers Week, we recognize the professionalism, courage and dedication of correctional officers in CDCR and across the country. Each and every day, these officers put their lives on the line to safeguard the public, their fellow staff members and the incarcerated individuals they are responsible for in an often dangerous and challenging work environment. Thank you for your service!

The California Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony is today, and we are mourning the loss of California’s heroes. This year’s ceremony honors four officers who died in the line of duty in 2023, as well as four officers who passed away in prior years. We will never forget their bravery, service and sacrifice.
